Welcome to Redwine Church

Rooted in and shaped by a living tradition, we are part of the new creation in Christ which God is bringing into existence. Therefore, we are committed to: The worship of the Triune God. The Holy Scriptures as the basis for our faith and activity. Unity with other believers in Christ. Total stewardship of life, including tithing of time, talents, and money. Excellence in education and equipping leaders for tomorrow. Loving and caring for one another and for other people. Spreading the Gospel to all parts of the world. Evaluating and changing church structures and priorities in order to meet the challenges of the future while preserving the best of the past. To this end and in humble reliance upon the enabling power of the Holy Spirit, we covenant together to pray steadfastly that God will open doors of opportunity so that we may declare the riches of Christ.

Redwine is a church you want to check out!  It is a loving family that welcomes everyone.  If you have young children, teenagers, join us and help us reach these young people.  We have a wonderful new adult Sunday School class.  The homemade baked goodies and the smell of coffee is pleasing.

History of Redwine Church

Established in 1789

Location: 3548 Redwine Church Rd., Canon,GA 30520

Text of marker: "REDWINE CHURCH". Redwine Church was apparently founded prior to 1800 & named after Jacob R. Redwine, Revolutionary soldier born in Pa. who moved here from N.C. This is the 4th church, built in 1906. The first was a log cabin several hundred yards west near the old cemetery in which lies Maj. Nathaniel Durkee, hero of the Revolutionary Battle of Kettle Creek. Lorenzo Dow noted Methodist preacher, once spoke here. Laid in & about this Church are many scenes in "The Circuit Rider's Wife" by Corra Harris, wife of Rev. Lundy Harris, who was preacher here in 1887 when he married.

The memorial window in the back of the church was given in memory of Eliza and Lavonia Cunningham. These virtuous women were faithful to the church and community by performing many helpful services to them. They were responsible for the attractive appearance of the church interior.
